Moonmen

A Mormon man believes that when he dies he will become a god (the Mormon doctrine of Eternal Progression), and that he will have his very own planet, on which he will have millions of children. In several of Joe Smith's earliest "revelations," he committed Mormon doctrine to a belief in many inhabited worlds, such as in 1830 (Moses 1), and in 1832 (D&C 76). According to Mormon belief, God lives near the "star" Kolob, a faint but visible star somewhere in our galaxy.

Joe Smith taught that the moon is inhabited. In 1892, the following recollections of Oliver Huntington were published in the Young Woman's Journal, an official LDS publication:

"Nearly all the great discoveries of men in the last half century have, in one way or another, either directly or indirectly, contributed to prove Joseph Smith to be a Prophet.

As far back as 1837, I know that he said the moon was inhabited by men and women the same as this earth, and that they lived to a greater age than we do, that they live generally to near the age of a 1000 years.

He described the men as averaging near six feet in height, and dressing quite uniformly in something near the Quaker style.

In my Patriarchal blessing, given by the father of Joseph the Prophet, in Kirtland, 1837, I was told that I should preach the gospel before I was 21 years of age; that I should preach the gospel to the inhabitants upon the islands of the sea, and - to the inhabitants of the moon, even the planet you can now behold with your eyes." (The Young Woman's Journal, published by the Young Ladies' Mutual Improvement Associations of Zion, 1892, vol. 3, pp. 263-64; 5:346; see also "Journal of Oliver B. Huntington," book 14, original at Huntington Library, San Marino, Calif; also vol. 3, p.166 of typed copy at Utah State Historical Society).

Joe Smith Jr., his father, and even his brother Hyrum believed in moonmen. In an 1843 sermon on the "plurality of gods & worlds," Hyrum Smith declared his belief in moonmen:

" . . . every star that we see is a world and is inhabited the same as this world is peopled. The sun & moon is inhabited & the stars. . . . The stars are inhabited the same as this earth." (George Laub's Nauvoo Journal, BYU Studies, Vol. 18, No. 2, winter 1978).

The second head of the LDS "church" also believed in moonmen. On July 24, 1870, Brigham Young said that not only was the moon inhabited but also the sun:

"Who can tell us of the inhabitants of this little planet that shines of an evening, called the moon? When we view its face we may see what is termed "the man in the moon" and what some philosophers declare are the shadows of mountains. But these sayings are very vague, and amount to nothing; and when you inquire about the inhabitants of that sphere you find that the most learned are as ignorant in regard to them as the most ignorant of their fellows. So it is with regard to the inhabitants of the sun. Do you think there is any life there? No question of it; it was not made in vain. It was made to give light to those who dwell upon it, and to other planets" (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 13, p. 217).

Who Are Aliens?

by Mark Hines, M.A.

Who are the space aliens? This is a fundamental question for UFO researchers who have pieced together, over the years, strong and undeniable evidence. As evidence accumulates from different quarters, an evolution of thought on the subject distills into sound conclusions.

Various of those who once dismissed the subject, now take it seriously. For instance, even conservative Christian writer Dr. Ron Carlson, in a book exposing cults, notes about UFOs, "We don't believe their existence should be denied. There is simply too much evidence today that suggests something is there. It is no longer whether they exist but what they are. . . . there are too many reliable eyewitness accounts of UFO sightings by people trained to know what is in the sky, including Air Force pilots and astronauts." (Ron Carlson, Fast Facts on False Teachings, Harvest House, 1994, p. 247).

As an accumulation of the best evidence points to a conclusion about who aliens are, the reality turns out to be not so interesting to some, but dangerous to keep concealed for all. In writing this article, the hope is that political leaders will conclude in favor of releasing long-classified information.

Once one is aware of strong evidence, even meeting scientific standards, for the existence of God, the focus of who aliens are narrows. For this evidence see: www.foxgrape.com/e.htm

The Bible vaguely refers to the fact that demons had sex with human women, and that these unions produced offspring (Genesis 6:1-4). Hebrew King David (died c970 B.C.) slew a giant, a remnant of a race of the strange genetic progeny. Because, according to top Biblical commentaries, a quotation in Jude 1:14 is taken from the Apocryphal book of Enoch, one knows that some passages in Enoch are accurate. To UFO researchers, perhaps the most interesting information from Enoch correlates with contemporary UFO evidence and confirms details of these demon/human offspring (Enoch 7:, 8:, 19:1-3, 8-9). Some of the demon/reptile beings who feed on the blood of animals (as in Enoch 7) fit the descriptions of the Puerto Rican Chupacabra (goat sucker). With its glowing red eyes and reptilian body, an artist could not draw a more demonic creature than the one described by police and other witnesses. The well documented blood draining cattle mutilators in the Western United States are also explained, as are the anti-Christian comments of aliens in some abductions cases. Explained also is Bob Lazar's comment that aliens gave S-4 scientists a hologram of the Crucifixion and claimed to have "invented" Jesus. If the US government, through the carrot stick of military technology, has become involved with these beings, as some suggest, only a separation from God, together with the obvious consequences of the destruction of the country, will result.
